What billing or insurance information will I receive?
For the most part, every insurance company will require that the patient have a co-pay at the time of service. Because we are contractually bound by your insurance company to collect that co-pay, we will ask for it at the time of your visit.
What can I expect to pay at the time of my visit?
Lack of insurance should not prevent a patient from getting the care that they require. We do accept a down payment for services rendered, and offer payment arrangements for those situations that require surgical intervention. For your convenience, we are also a part of the Care Credit network. Care Credit is a credit card that upon approval can be used at most doctor, dentist and even vet offices.
What billing can I expect from my visit?
Typically, we file a claim to your insurance company a week after your visit. The claim will take anywhere from two to four weeks to process on their end. At the same time that they pay us, you will receive what is called an “EOB” Explanation of Benefits. This is an explanation of what was an allowable Charge under your policy and what was paid to your doctor. With any Medical claim, there are what we call “write offs”, this will be identified on your EOB. We make those adjustments in your billing account and post the payment from them immediately as they come in. With some policies you will have what they call a “deductible.” A deductible is the amount that you must pay before they will begin to pay your claims They will tell us what portion if any will be applied to your deductible, which means it's your responsibility. Once we receive our “EOB” from your insurance company we will process the final payment and send a statement to you.
